Porto Petro is a small port, very close to Cala d'Or and Cala Mondragó, in the east of Mallorca. It belongs to the municipality of Santanyi, and it has just 500 inhabitants, a number which during the summer increases with the presence of tourists who stay at hotels in the area.
For lovers of the sea, Porto Petro has a small white sand beach with sunbeds and umbrella services, beach bars and water sports. The beach is not easy to find, and its access is next to the hotel Blau Porto Petro. From the beach there is a small jetty, from where you can take boat trips along the coast of Porto Petro, to different destinations such as Cala Figuera, Cala Dor, Porto Colom ...

Cala Dor is a very popular and pretty tourist resort and is worth a visit from Porto Petro. The bus ride is pleasant and short. Cala Dor is a sun, sea and sand beach destination and therefore one of the most important highlights will be to enjoy some of its beaches. On this stretch of five kilometres of coastline you will find many coves, such as Cala Sa Nau, Cala Mitjana (small and difficult to access), Cala Serena, Cala Gran or Cala Esmeralda. Take a stroll around Cala Dor and visit the marina, whose site was originally an old boat shelter and where the marina was built in 1970, which has numerous nautical services, a shopping area and numerous restaurants.
The beach at Cala Mondrago is an ideal place to relax, swim, sunbathe and snorkel. Cala Mondrago is made up of two coves with fine sand and crystal waters, which are connected to each other and the natural park by a pretty path, both of which make a great beach spot to spend a day of your holidays.
Walkers will enjoy the Natural Park of Cala Mondragó, which offers numerous treks along the coast, showing the wilderness of this area of the island. This is one of the most beautiful natural areas in Mallorca and the visitor centre offers lots of information about flora, fauna and in particular about the migratory birds that visit the park annually. There are four self-guided trails in Mondrago and at the National Park information center, they offer more information about them. All the trails are perfectly marked, and are easy to follow. This constitutes a great day out in Mallorca.
