What do we do on our Excursion Valldemosa and La Granja?

This is a full day excursion that will take us to visit one of the most beautiful spots of Mallorca, the village of Valldemossa. Then we will visit La Granja, an old Mallorca farmhouse where we can see how life was in Mallorca before the tourism, and we can taste typical products of Mallorca.

The road to Valldemossa is through stunning scenery with great views of the valley, the mountain area and the village of Valldemossa. Our guide will explain you some important facts and information about the village. We will do a stop at a glass blowing factory where we can see this technique introduced in Mallorca by the Phoenicians.

Valldemossa is the highest village of Mallorca, where we will be able to visit the Royal Carthusian Monastery, known as ‘La Cartuja’, which dates back to the 14th century. The visit includes the gardens of the Monastery, the church, the old pharmacy, the prior’s cell and the King Sancho palace. Chopin cell is not included.

After the visit you will have free time in Valldemossa because there is much to see including museums, churches, plenty of places to have a cool drink or eat a meal or you can just amble around looking at the wonderful views.

After visiting Valldemossa, we will go to La Granja, an old Mallorcan farmhouse. Nowadays La Granja is open to the public and holds an ethnographic museum and many different wild and domestic animals and birds.

The visit to La Granja includes the historical mansion with its different halls, dining rooms, bedrooms, wine cellar, chapel...; the spectacular gardens with ponds and fountains; sampling of Mallorcan food and demonstrations of traditional dances and ancient handicrafts.
