To get to Cala Figuera we must take the road that goes to the Formentor Lighthouse. To park you will have to find a place on the shoulder, without disturbing traffic or leaving part of the car on the road, since you risk a fine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Traffic restrictions<\/strong>:&nbsp; From June 15 to September 15, vehicle traffic on the road from Formentor Beach to Formentor Lighthouse is restricted to private vehicles from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In other words, you cannot circulate with your car to get to Cala Figuera at this time. You must take the shuttle bus that goes from Formentor beach to the Formentor Lighthouse, and has a stop along the way to get to Cala Figuera.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The path you have to walk down to get to Cala Figuera is easy to follow. At first it is a wide dirt road, and later it turns into a small path. Some sections of the path are quite overgrown and you can&#8217;t always make out the path, but it only happens in small sections. In addition, you always have the reference of the beach, which you can see all the time. Before reaching the beach there is an esplanade with some stone benches, and from there a staircase with stone steps leaves you on the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is advisable to wear closed-toed, sports-type shoes, because we do not recommend following this trail with flip-flops or beach sandals. A couple of things to keep in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>First of all, <\/em><\/strong>we want to tell you that here there are no ammenities at all at Cala Figuera: no beach bar, no sun beds, no lifeguard\u2026 <strong>it is a 100% virgin cove of Mallorca<\/strong>. Therefore, you must take food and drink with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Secondly, <\/em><\/strong>we want to tell you that Cala Figuera beach is not a sandy cove, but rather a pebbly cove. They are medium-sized stones, and it can become somewhat uncomfortable to lie on the beach to sunbathe and relax. In the area closest to the shore, there is a presence of posidonia (seaweed) and it is more comfortable to put the towel there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Thirdly, <\/em><\/strong>the seabed is a mixture of stones and sand. At first it&#8217;s basically rocks, but as you get further into the water it becomes sand with some rocks present. If you feel like snorkelling, you will enjoy it. Above all, on the edges of the cove there are many rocks, with many fish, Posidonia, sea urchins, anemones\u2026 The color of the water is spectacular: turquoise, emerald green, blue\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>And lastly, <\/em><\/strong>the &#8220;possible&#8221; visitors. We are on the Formentor peninsula. Possibly on the way to Cala Figuera you have already seen the occasional goat. Surely you will also see some in Cala Figuera. They are clever, knowing that beachgoers bring food with them. Goats are not dangerous at all, and some are very tame. The reason was to defend the island in case of an invasion by sea. Surely you have seen others in Mallorca, because there are many more. They are <em>escars<\/em>: small shelters where fishermen keep their boats, which give Cala Figuera a special charm. Take a walk to it, and you will be able to see how they are built and understand how they work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, this whole area is a good place to spread your towel, because the erosion of the stones has made it so that there are many esplanades. The excursion lasts about 4 hours without rushing, and it is about 9 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those who prefer a short and easy route, you can combine a visit to Cala Figuera with a route to Cala Murta, which is another spectacular cove. From the bus stop, if you continue for about 20 meters in the direction of the Formentor Lighthouse, you will see the path to Cala Murta on the right. Cala Murta is another virgin cove that you have to walk to and the walk from the main road is around 15 minutes, but it is relatively flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And for those who prefer a driving excursion, the option is to continue along the road, and reach the Formentor Lighthouse.
