In the east area of Mallorca, we find some of the best beaches of the island. Calas de Mallorca although it is a small resort, it has plenty of beaches. The beaches are very small, compared to the big beaches in the other areas of Mallorca such as Alcudia, Palma or Cala Millor. There are some lovely sandy beaches in a beautiful environment, and with all the facilities one needs.
Two of the "Calas" de Mallorca are Cala Domingos and Cala Antena. Cala Domingos is almost 5km from the centre of Calas de Mallorca. It boasts fine white sand and especially clean clear waters. You may wish to plant your umbrella in its 150 metre-long and wide sand and enjoy a marvellous landscape with open sea. It gets very busy during summer but there is ample parking. It is one of the beaches in Mallorca where fishing is allowed. One of the three natural beaches making up Calas de Mallorca is Cala Antena. Its visitors may dip their feet into the fine white sand and refresh themselves in the peaceful and crystal-clear waters. Among its main noticeable traits is its narrower shape, just 85 metres length yet 25 metres wide, surrounded by low foothill-cliffs.

Calas de Mallorca is not a proper nightlife area resort. It has a few bars, some with music, but no nightclubs. It's a purpose-built resort with most (if not all) the hotels being all inclusive, therefore the town has been strangled of customers. You will find a few bars with live music and a lot showing sport but overall its fairly quiet.
A recommended place in many websites is Tiffany’s Night Club that has a fantastic night-time atmosphere. During the day and evening, this bar serves a range of light bites and drinks, and at night, turns into a pumping club with some amazing music.
Golfers will find the Vall D'or Golf Club just outside Porto Colom. For those who would like to explore the municipality of Manacor, there is a published 14-route itinerary that the tourist information office in this area has released and it is fun to discover some of these routes.
Those who like walking will find that near Calas de Mallorca there are numerous virgin coves to visit, many without urbanizations, and without services, but which are well worth it for the crystal clear waters and tranquility. Among some outstanding, we can mention Cala Magraner and Cala Pilota.
Cala Magraner is a spectacular cove and is a real paradise. It is well known among climbers, since on the walls of its cliffs there are different climbing and psychobloc routes.
Cala Magraner shares characteristics with Cala Virgili, Cala Bota and Cala Pilota: crystal clear waters (when there is no rough sea) with shades of green and turquoise, pebble beach, presence of posidonia on the beach (which is never bad for lying on sunbathing), ideal for swimming and snorkelling, tranquility and few people. Cala Pilota is a small virgin cove, and it is very close to Cala Magraner. It is the perfect place to relax and find peace and quiet, even in the middle of the busiest summer.
There is also a great coastal walk between Calas de Mallorca and Estany de Mas (near Porto Cristo).
From Calas de Mallorca you can actually take the public bus to the Caves of Drach. Unfortunately you still can't buy your ticket in advance so you are going to queue in the summer months, but it is worth it.
