Located in the southwest area of Mallorca, Camp de Mar is a small resort village in the municipality of Andratx on the Spanish Balearic Island of Mallorca and is very popular with repeat German holidaymakers that come back year after year. Despite being small, Camp de Mar boasts everything the tourist needs on holiday: a wide presence of hotels, restaurants, bars, a great beach and plenty of activities and attractions close by.
For nature lovers we have the mountainous area of the Serra de Tramuntana close to the Camp de Mar centre, which offers many interesting hiking and biking trails, all of which are well signposted with informative boards. Two of the most renowned hikes in the area are to La Trapa, from where we can see Dragonera Island, and to the Puig de Galatzo, one of the highest mountains on the island with 1000m, from where to admire amazing views.
For a shorter trek, staying closer to the sea, we have the route to Cap Andritxol, an old defensive fortification used centuries ago to defend the coast of Mallorca against pirate attacks.
In the area of the Tramuntana UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can enjoy the spectacular excursion from Camp de Mar to Soller and La Calobra combining boat trip, train ride, tram and coach. This has been voted as one of the best days out in Mallorca.
For those who love the sea and the beach, Camp de Mar has the privilege of having one of the most beautiful beaches on Mallorca, for the transparency of its waters and the whiteness of its sand. However, Camp de Mar beach is a small beach but there is also a small islet just in front of Camp de Mar, which can be reached by a wooden walkway and is a nice place to relax in the sun or have a drink whilst enjoying the view.
And don't forget, that from Camp de Mar, you can easily walk to other small coves and beaches which are worth exploring.
From the beach at Camp de Mar there are numerous options of boat trips which will take you to explore the rest of the island's coves and stunning coastline. One of the most beautiful boat excursions is to Dragonera Natural Park on Dragonera Island on a spectacular 5-hour boat trip on which you will see the beautiful Mallorca coastline, have the opportunity for swimming and snorkelling and have time to explore Dragonera Island. The offer for catamaran tours, snorkeling trips or other boat trips is bigger departing from the nearby resort of Santa Ponsa, and you can easily get there by taxi or local bus.
