If you love nature and history, a very good recommendation is walking from Son Baulo beach to Son Real, a protected nature area where you can enjoy the native flora and fauna, being able to observe turtles, pheasants, or hedgehogs, among other animals. In this area we find a Phoenician Necropolis, a small cemetery dating from the seventh century BC and I BC, unique in Spain and the Mediterranean.
For those who love doing things at the sea, Can Picafort has a long white sandy beach with crystalline waters that are not very deep, which makes it ideal for families. From the port of Can Picafort, we will find a variety of excursions by boat, catamaran or sailboat. One of the most popular activities is the boat to Formentor beach. Some other opctions with boat trips are from the nearby resorts, where you can enjoy a full day with numerous activities such as diving, swimming, fishing, relaxing and sunbathing. A short distance from Can Picafort we find Alcudia old town, one of the most visited places on the island of Mallorca, with a long sandy beach ideal for boat trips, sailboats or catamarans. One of the beaches that we find next to Can Picafort is Playa de Muro, it is a quiet beach surrounded by protected sand dunes.
For night owls, the place offers a quite varied nightlife with many bars and discos, such. the Disco Charlys or Skau.If you want to experience the nightlife at Magaluf, you can do that from Can Picafort with the Magaluf Party Bus on Wednesdays.
Another area to visit is the S'Albufera nature reserve, which is internationally known among bird watchers and consists of marshes and swamps with a high number of animal species, including birds.
It is not far from Can Picafort to the old town in Alcudia. There you can walk along and on the city wall, admire the town hall or visit the Roman ruins of the ancient Pollentia and the old church or even see the bullring. Sundays and Tuesdays there is a popular weekly market.
The famous Sierra de Tramuntana is also close, and the best way to visit it is with the excursion to Soller and La Calobra, which combines four different means of transport in the same day. From Can Picafort there is a wide range of coach tours to different tourist sites in Mallorca, such as Formentor, the Caves of Drach or Palma.
In Alcudia there is the Hidropark with numerous slides for young and old. The largest water park Aqualand Arenal in Palma and the Western Water Park in Magaluf you can also visit on a trip by bus from here. If you want to see animals in Marineland you can admire dolphins, sea lions and parrots during the shows. The Palma Aquarium offers animals and plants from the underwater world to admire.
