Situated in the north of the island, Playas de Muro shares a spot on Mallorca’s longest sandy beach. Howeever, this town is part of Muro, in the middle of the Port of Alcudia and Can Picafort.
For those who declare themselves nature lovers, the Albufera is the place to go. After that, discover its paths packed with the island’s native flora and wildlife. This Nature Park is also a very frequented spot for bird watching.
For sea lovers, the stunning 6km long white sanded beach is an exceptional location for those who want to laze about around while soaking up the sun and for the more active who like to take park in activities such as kite surfing or paddle surf. It is without a doubt one of the island’s beach beaches for families as one of its main features is the fact the water is very shallow.
No doubt a boat or catamaran trip is a must from this beach. There is a great variety on offer from glass bottom boats to catamarans.
From the area of Playas de Muro there is a large amount of excursion which can take you to discover lots of parts of the island. For example, on Wednesdays we head to the East Coast to the Caves of Drach, known to have the largest underground lake in Europe. As part of the same tour we also take you to the inland village SIneu where the island’s most typical market is held. A visit to the pearls fabric and some free time to explore Porto Cristo are also included.
Other interesting excursions take you to Valldemossa, Soller, Formentor or Palma amongst other destinations.
On Sundays and Tuesdays in Alcudia there are a weekly market. It is worth taking this opportunity to explore the pretty old town of Alcudia, with its wall, church and bullring.
