Santa Ponsa is located on the south coast of Mallorca in the Calvia area and is one of the most important tourist destinations in Mallorca. The tourist that visits Santa Ponsa will find many facilities and things to make a more convenient and enjoyable holiday such as hotels, restaurants, bars and shops. As well as all this, there are many things to do and see in and around Santa Ponsa, plus plenty of tours to other parts of the island.
For nature-lovers visiting Santa Ponsa, there are a few interesting trails close to the sea towards the areas of Malgrats and Camp de Mar and the interior area of Calvia is just stunning, especially around Capdella and the Puig de Galatzo. The Tramunatana Mountain area begins in this part of the island and a great option to visit it is on the Soller and La Calobra excursion combining bus, boat, train and tram.
If you are more of a beach-lover, Santa Ponsa has a gorgeous white sandy beach stretching than a kilometre long and 100m wide where you can soak up the sun and relax. The beach has all the facilities you will need such as showers, changing room, sunbeds, lifeguard, water sports, parasailing, etc. Santa Ponsa beach is frequented by tourists and residents alike. At the right hand side of the beach is the jetty for boats. While at the beach you shouldn’t miss out on taking part in a water activity such as a short glass bottom boat to Malgrats Island for snorkelling or the spectacular 5-hour boat trip to Dragonera Island on which you will see the beautiful Santa Ponsa coastline, have the opportunity for swimming and snorkelling and have time to explore Dragonera Island.
A beautiful stroll in Santa Ponsa is to the Club Nautico, which was inaugurated in 1975. There's a traditional nautical feel and it's an experience to see the fishing boats and yachts. Though if we wish to see grander yachts then we must head to Port Adriano where the most exclusive yachts are anchored. It is a nice place to dine at one of the seafront restaurants too and go shopping at designer stores in the exclusive commercial centre.
There is a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants in Santa Ponsa, so you will not have problems finding something you like. While on holiday, you shouldn’t miss out on tasting some delicious Mallorcan tapas or enjoying a paella in a nice charming terrace.
Nightlife in Santa Ponsa is another good option, as there are many pubs and bars to go for a drink or a cocktail. If you are looking for something special at night time, why not to join the Son Amar evening show?
Another point of interest in Santa Ponsa is the desembarkment cross which was built to commemorate where Jaime I landed in 1229 with 20,000 soldiers and 150 boats to put an end to the Arab domination in Mallorca.
There is no water park in Santa Ponsa itself but close to Santa Ponsa resort we find the Western Water Park, a western-style themed water park with lots of water slides and a fun choice to spend a day in the water. If you prefer to visit the biggest water park on the island, we also have a package tour to Aqualand Arenal with return bus.
Not to be missed is the City of Palma, which is not so far from Santa Ponsa. A good value excursion is the tour to Palma on an open-top bus, combining guided walk and cathedral visit. The tour is a perfect opportunity to get to know the capital of the island and to do some shopping for an excellent value for money. Other popular excursion options from Santa Ponsa are the tour to the Caves of Drach, to Formentor and the trip to Soller and Calobra. On all these tours, return transport from santa Ponsa is included, as well as the entrance tickets to the respective attractions.
Families with children have a lot of choices, ranging from boat trips, to popular tourist attractions. Marineland and Katmandu Park are two of the highlights in the area. Marineland offers a fantastic dolphin and sea lion show that has received many awards for its quality. Free transport to these parks is included in the entrance ticket for people staying at hotels in Santa Ponsa. Other great options for families are Palma Aquarium or Pirates show, and we have tour packages including return bus and entrance to the venue.
Finally, for golf-lovers, Santa Ponsa is a perfect base for visiting the two golf courses on the outskirts of this area.
