This catamaran trip is one of the best things to do in Alcudia. The excursion begins when we leave the Port of Alcudia heading towards the area known as Aucanada. On our way there we will be passing by its beautiful beach and lighthouse. Later on we will continue along the coast to enjoy the landscape of cliffs, mountains and secluded beaches. Once we get to the one called Coll Baix we will cast anchor for about 20 minutes so that you can swim.
After, we will cross Pollensa's Bay as we go towards the Formentor Lighthouse. Once we have found a small secluded cove we will anchor a stay there for approximately 90 minutes. During this stop you will be able to snorkel, jump into the sea from the catamaran, swim towards the cove, try stand up padel, try kayak or simply soak up the sun while lying on the nets. There you can enjoy the dreamy scenario where mountains meet the sea in the most beautiful way. The stand up padel are available on board the catamaran and you can use it with no extra charge.
Then it's time for lunch. The menu offered consists of a selection of meats cooked on the barbacue on board: chicken, pork loin and sausages. There's also freshly made pasta salad and mallorcan bread to accompany it. For dessert there will be seasonal fruit. During lunch time two drinks per person are also included.
Once everybody has had lunch and relaxed we will start our return journey by letting down the sales to make our way sailing to our last stop of the day: the Aucanada area. There you will have the opportunity to take a dip in the water or just take some photos up close of Aucanada's small island and lighthouse.
This catamaran excursion in Alcudia is one of many of our boat trips in Mallorca.
Alcudia catamaran reviews:
A great trip, three good stops, a lot of people although still felt like a lot of room. Good for all ages. Shame there were no SUP's
Nice trip and friendly crew but very busy on boat with only 3 paddle boards and 3 kayaks between 50-60 people or so, maybe more, so additional activities limited . Worth taking your own snorkeling stuff too. So if you’re happy in a crowd it’s a good half day out. May be quieter out of high season
It was a great catamaran tour. Great organisation and friendly and knowledgeable guide.
The trip is geared to young people and they all had a great time. There was music( fairly loud) playing constantly. Seating was tricky as some groups and families took over large areas. We were stuck on one seat with our backs to the sun while they spread their towels and sunbathed prone. They all enjoyed the water activities and it was fun to watch them! The food was ok. When experiencing a boat trip, at home or abroad, we usually enjoy some commentary about history wildlife and coastline, but there was none. The 'skipper' just performed his role as driver and announced food etc very speedily. He was absolutely disinterested in the tourists, though monitored safety. We were bored most of the time.........
Good day out, but the boat was too busy. Would have been good to have less people so there was more room on the boat to move around, the shaded areas especially were crowded towards the end of the day because it was so hot. Possibly our mistake but we thought the stops would include beaches but they don’t, it’s sea stops only. Not ideal if you have small children with you. Food was decent and the drink selection available to buy was good. Friendly crew and well organised.
Great activity, nice stops, not too crowded onboard. We boarded on the first stop (Playa de Muro) at 9:15 and were back at 16:00 which is almost 7 hours in total. Shortening the trip a bit would be a plus.
Very nice day, nice crew, nice views, great food and beautiful weather. Not many people on the boat but that could be the time of year - every was quiet in Alcudia
I have been on this catamaran in the past and loved it. The only thing is that it is normally very busy. This year I was pleasantly surprised as there was plenty of space to spread out and keep your distance from other passengers, something that's important to a lot of people in these times of Covid. The crew had their masks on the whole time, although the customers were allowed to remove them once seated onboard. But then to get a drink (soft drinks only because of covid) at the bar, you had to wear the mask as well. The other thing I noticed different this year because of the covid was that you weren't allowed to serve yourself at lunch time. The crew served you, although the food was same as always. Basic and tasty, plenty of it too. The trip was the same as the other times I've done it, with the route around the coast, stopping at Coll Bash and then on to the secret cove close to Formentor. The secret cove is the highlight of the trip and you can swim here for as long as you want. No snorkel masks provided this year though, you had to buy them if you wanted one. They say that's because of covid as well. On the way back the sail was up and the people who hadn't seen it before couldn't believe how huge it was and took ten men to hoist it up. Excellent trip as usual and I will be going back on it next year.
Had a great day out from start to finish. The catamaran was great, not too crowded. Plenty of room to stretch out on the nets. The crew were friendly and polite. Once we reached the secluded cove, we spent time either swimming, kayaking or snorkelling all equipment supplied by the crew. After lunch on board we had time to have a swim again around the boat. I would recommend this day trip out, we found it lovely and relaxing.
An enjoyable day spent in a catamaran however there were at leats 50 people in the catamaran. The catamaran drops anchor far away from any beach and it is not possible to go to the beach. The food served was good and drinks were available in plenty. There was a very nice atmosphere on boat, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty to do:, kayak, snorkel or simply just jump off the boat and swim in the gorgeous ocean
