The visit to the Caves of Hams has 3 different parts:
- We start by descending to the Round Cave, a vast open area that includes a spectacular botanical garden with many species of free-flying birds that are native to the island of Mallorca. This is a special micro-climate, whose natural temperature is below that of the exterior, with its own particular vegetation. Millions of years ago, this underground cave was closed in.
-
Next, we visit the Blue Cave, with its spectacular new blue lighting using cutting edge LED technology where you can enjoy the educational documentary “Discovering the Past”, about the history of Mallorca, its first inhabitants, the formation of the Hams Caves and their discovery.
You can admire Samson’s Pillars, the plains of Fra Mauro and the Pit of Hell, where, in a natural auditorium, we will present “Genesis, the history of life”, a frenzied time-lapse from the Big Bang to the present day, projected on a vast scale onto the very rock-face of the cave.
- The last part of the visit is the Classic Cave, renowned throughout the world for its peculiar fish-hook shaped formations, Hams in Mallorquin. The main cave, is made up of 12 galleries. On the underground lake, the Sea of Venice a Musical Show is presented.
Reviews about the visit to the Caves of Hams
We enjoyed the cave itself, but I was surprised by how difficult the owners made the process. In the online ticket process it seemed that one could come at any time, but when we arrived we were told they only started tours on the hour, which was difficult as we had other obligations. But we came back at the agreed time and then had to wait around quite awhile- I think they were waiting for some late arrivals. Then there was a long talk, a short movie…. We finally got into the cave itself about 40 minutes after the start time. Great cave- poor management.
The caves were beautiful, we particularly enjoyed the Genesis show and the music. A head's up about the stairs would have been helpful! Staff seemed a little disinterested.
Was Wörth seeing, Vers nice
Lovely caves with some amazing stalagmites and stalactites, the fact that some of the stalagtites grow back upwards is really fascinating and the genesis show was brilliant. Music show at the end not as good as the caves of drach, but still really enjoyable.
Excellent place! Like in dream story!!!
Es un lugar maravilloso! Disfrute mucho todo el recorrido, mi única sugerencia sería que para el espectáculo en el mar de Venecia se haga con música de Mallorca.
Fast, easy and cheap. Would recommend.
Great service and good discount, thank you
Nice 1hour long relaxing tour. You can see many type of structure inside, cave is beautifully shaped. Nice lightning and interesting projections. We definitely had fun there. Overall place worth to visit and easier if you get your tickets online.
Caves de Hams are of a baroc nature, caves of hooks,a surrealism universum; there are stalagmites and stalactites with strange forms like trees and hoocks, very nice, magnific experience of colours in a magic world. Easy when you get tickets on line go anyday and save money as it's cheaper also.
We want to know what you think
