This guided walking tour of Palma is carefully divided into two complementary parts, allowing you to experience the city in a complete yet perfectly paced way.
Walking Tour of Palma’s Old Town (45 minutes)
The first part of this guided walking tour takes you through the heart of Palma’s historic old town, one of the most atmospheric areas of the city. Accompanied by an expert local guide, you’ll stroll through narrow streets, elegant squares and hidden corners that reveal Palma’s rich past and Mediterranean character.
During the walk, you’ll pass some of the city’s most emblematic landmarks, such as the Almudaina Palace, the former Moorish fortress that later became the royal residence, and Plaza de Cort, home to Palma’s historic Town Hall. You’ll also discover beautiful medieval courtyards, once belonging to noble families, and admire ancient churches and stately mansions that showcase centuries of architectural evolution.
As you explore the old town, your guide will bring the city to life with engaging stories about Palma’s history, legends and local traditions, helping you understand how the city has evolved from Roman and Moorish times to the vibrant capital it is today.
Guided Tour Inside Palma Cathedral (45 minutes)
After exploring the old town, the tour continues with a guided visit inside Palma Cathedral, entering with skip-the-line access to avoid long waiting times. Known locally as La Seu, this impressive Gothic cathedral is one of Palma’s most iconic landmarks and a true highlight of the city.
Inside, you’ll admire the cathedral’s breathtaking interior, including its spectacular stained-glass windows, such as the famous Gothic rose window that fills the space with light and colour. Your guide will also explain the Modernist contributions by Antoni Gaudí and the striking Chapel of the Holy Sacrament, designed by the contemporary artist Miquel Barceló.
Throughout the visit, your guide will share fascinating insights into the cathedral’s history, architecture and symbolism, pointing out details and stories that most visitors would otherwise miss when visiting on their own.
Palma Walking Tour with Cathedral Reviews
Excellent walking tour of Palma with skip-the-line access to the Cathedral. Well organised, informative and ideal for a first visit to the city.
We really enjoyed this Palma walking tour with Cathedral entry. It’s a great way to see the main sights in a short amount of time, and having skip-the-line access to the Cathedral was a big advantage. The guide was professional and informative, and the tour felt well planned from start to finish. Perfect if you want a cultural experience without spending a whole day on a tour.
This walking tour of Palma de Mallorca was the perfect introduction to the city. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything in a clear and engaging way, making the history of Palma easy to understand and enjoyable. The first part of the tour through the old town was fascinating. We explored historic streets, beautiful courtyards and landmarks like the Almudaina Palace and Plaza de Cort, while learning about Palma’s past, traditions and daily life. The pace was relaxed and well organised. The highlight was the guided visit inside Palma Cathedral. Skipping the long queues made a huge difference, and the explanations inside were excellent, especially learning about the architecture, the stained-glass windows and Gaudí’s influence. A very complete and well-balanced tour, highly recommended for first-time visitors.
Overall this was a good experience. I was staying close to the Cathedral, but was still picked up by a tour bus who drove everyone on board to Bellver Castle to site see. This was an unexpected surprise. Then we were dropped close to the Cathedral to browse vendor stalls for 45 minutes before the Cathedral tour started at 11:20 AM. Our Cathedral tour guide was great, showed us unique Palma aspects both inside and outside the Cathedral. I ended up needing to leave early because I misunderstood when the guided tour started (it's 11:20 AM, even if a bus picks you up well before this time), but I enjoyed the experience. The Cathedral itself also offers guided tours, this tour group and the Cathedral tour group highlight different aspects of the building history and design so they were both "worth it" to me.
We waited a long time for some of the other walkers , and felt rushed around the rest of the tour . No chance to take in the vibe and look around properly .
This tour was a great way of seeing some of the most important sites of the city included the cathedral. Our guide explained the history of the city and give us many details about the places as we strolled through the old city. Nice addition was also to get direct access to the cathedral without to queue. The tour was 1,5hrs included the visit of the cathedral. At the end of the walk, we got nice tips and suggestions from our guide,Jeannine to enjoy the rest of the day in the city. It really make a difference to visit the city when you do it on a guided walk with a very good guide as we did. Thanks for this fabulous tour.
This was a new experience for me and has ended up being the highlight of my day in Palma. Joan is a wonderful guide and took us through the old city telling us so many facts about the different places. A great way to discover the secrets of the city and the gem of it : the cathedral. After the walking tour, Joan followed-up with us and told us where to go to continue to enjoy the city and how we got there and that was extremely useful for the rest of our day.
We booked this tour online, easy and quick. We had a very interesting tour thanks to our guide, she was so amazing and friendly, the narration of places fun by asking interesting questions and making us guess. After the visit of the Cathedral entering directly avoiding the queue which is a nice addition when you booked a tour with this company we were walking into the old town discovering the most important sites and many of the lovely patios. We definitly recommend this walking tour and this company.
We had a great time with this walking tour with Cathedral. Thank you for sharing your city. Jeannine provided not only a great walking, but also a great follow up communication for further suggestions. The walk started at 12:15 at the tourist office near the cathedral and took about 1,5hrs included visit into the cathedral. We were warmly welcomed by ourguide. She was so energetic and had a good knowledge about Palma and also other facts into relation with the culture and traditions of the island. I highly recommend this tour best way to discover Palma and very good value for money.
My friend and I recently visited Palma for the very first time, and enjoyed our walk through the city. We were so glad to have reserved tickets online for this walking tour and had such a great with our guide Joan. We visited many cities with tours and guides but Joan is so far the best! He took us first to the cathedral which was amazing and he explained us the history with much details and to some awesome places that we would have never understand without comments of our guide. It's so nice learning from someone that is local to the area. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Palma - Thank you to Joan!!!
