On this excursion we will move from the east of Mallorca to the Sierra de Tramuntana, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its cultural landscape, and where we will:
Enjoy a journey by coach to get to know this area better, while the guide explains curiosities of the different areas that we will see, such as the Lluc monastery, the Puig Mayor, the Pareis torrent ... until you reach the considered one of the most spectacular roads in Europe, the road that takes us to Calobra. A 13-kilometer road built in 1929 with fantastic panoramic views, which will take us to our next destination: La Calobra.
La Calobra is a place in the Sierra de Tramuntana where sea, cliffs and forest come together to shape a spectacular natural landscape that will surely impress you. During the visit to La Calobra you have free time to eat, bathe in the cove or go to see the torrent of Pareis and its mouth, where we find a small pebble beach where you can bathe.
Next, we will embark on a modern boat to delight ourselves with a 40-minute ride from Sa Calobra to Puerto de Soller, bordering the coast, and with a unique landscape that can only be seen from the sea with defensive towers, coves, cliffs, sea caves , islets ...
Once we arrive at the Port, the Soller tram will be waiting for us to take us in a 25-minute journey to the Soller railway station, passing through orange and lemon orchards, through the town of Soller and with views of some of the mountains Mallorca high.
We will finish our excursion through the Tramuntana mountain range by going up to the Sóller train, a vintage train, built in 1912. The train ride takes us through the Soller valley, passing numerous tunnels and with privileged views of the valley towards the greater tunnel that It will bring us to the other side of the valley with the town of Bunyola, and the Son Reus station, where the coach awaits us to take us back.
Customer reviews for Island Tour Mallorca with Soller and La Calobra
Full day Island Tour was fabulous. We were collected on time in a smart, modern coach. We received a warm welcome from driver and guide. Firstly - Gertrudis (guide) was thankfully not someone who just talked for the sake of doing so. Our first stop was in Inca at a leather shop. Loads of beautiful bags at great prices. Even better, there are clean toilets and a very small cafe area where you can get a coffee or cold drink. Then onto the best section of the day - driving through the Tramuntana mountains. Just over 3100m at the top. Driving of the coach was top quality as Tony negotiated the inch-perfect bends with ease. On arrival at La Calobra, we walked through the two small tunnels. The view is again perfect A boat trip up to the port of Soller, then an old-style tram into Soller center followed by the old wooden train, whose carriages were built in 1912, back to Palma. Throughout the day, the views were incredible. Tony's driving was safe and perfect. Gertrudis gave information at each place without unnecessary waffle. Timing throughout the day worked well and we did not feel the need to rush to get to where we should be. In Summary, the tour was excellent value with spectacular views. A knowledgeable and great guide plus an experienced, careful driver always looked after us all.
From my point of view the trip was well organised and most enjoyable. We covered a lot of ground and the drive through the mountains was spectacular. The visit to the leather shop was not of interest to me. The boat trip and tram were okay. The train ride was another highlight. Transfers were efficiently undertaken and the guide gave clear instructions about reassembling after free time. Her information (given in three languages) was most useful . A most enjoyable day
This was a very interesting and enjoyable trip. The tram and train rides in particular were great Although a long journey from the east of the island, the countryside was lovely. The coach driver Damian was excellent, particularly over the mountains. The guide Ariana (?) was very good. She kept us well informed about the areas we drove through and the programme. She managed to persuade everyone to keep to all the departure times which was amazing.
Last monday 1 Sept we've had a wonderful Mallorca Island Tour. How convenient to be driven around in the bus, espescially the long hairpin route. What a great driver. We just enjoyed the views. After lunch a boattrip to Port Soller and the famous tram to Soller. From there the antique wooden train back to the bus near Palma and then back to the hotel. The whole day was perfectly guided by our tourguide Ariane. She's amazing and all the different stops where perfectly controlled by her. Everyone save and in time. The trip was over 10 hours and absolutely fantastic. I'm not sponsored, it's my sincere feeling of the day.
The tour is amazing! Getting to see so much more is the island in one day! Ariane, the tour guide, was brilliant; switching between 4 languages fluently to cater to everyone on the tour. Definitely worth the money.
Excellent all day trip- great driver Miguel and guide Arianna… would definitely recommend
Fabulous tour well worth doing. The only thing i would change is to drop the leather shop stop in favour of having an hour in sollier
Great day out and a brilliant way to see part of the island from various perspectives. Ariane, our guide was very talented, multi-lingual and very thorough with her facts, tour notes and timings etc. Most enjoyablend and good value for money. Highly recommended.
Brilliant day out. Highly recommended. Well organised. A must if you’re in Majorca.
The trip was fantastic and recommendable. The guide Francisco tried his best to speak 4 languages but due to the bold Spanish accent and difficulties in finding the correct words, it was very difficult to understand what he said. And sometimes numbers changed from language to language 😁
