It would be a shame to stay in Mallorca, an island rich in history and culture, without learning a little about its past, its traditions, the beauty of its landscapes and more. Do you want to know why the green window shutters are always closed? Do you wonder about the windmills? Can you even imagine how the island was 60 years ago? This Mallorca Off The Beaten Track tour is your opportunity to find out all these answers and more in the most fun way possible.
The tour departs from 3 different points of the island, meaning the first part of the trip will vary depending on where you depart from:
- From the south of Mallorca: Drive along the spectacular coastline, passing some of the island's most picturesque villages such as Banyalbufar and Estellencs, including a photo stop at a watchtower. Continue towards Valldemossa. Free time in Valldemossa. Next we visit a typical Mallorcan restaurant "Celler" with local wine tasting and snacks. After dinner, continue to Petra to the Bonany Monastery (Mondays) / to the Junipero Serra Museum (Fridays). Finally, visit the pearl factory in Montuiri.
- From the east of Mallorca: We visit one of the most colorful markets on the island: the Arta market. We will then visit the Aloe Vera Farm where we will have a tour and they will show us the different products and explain the many uses of Aloe Vera. You can also try the aloe vera juice. Visit to Petra and stop at the museum and convent to learn something about the life of Junipero Serra. Stop at the Orquidea pearl factory in Montuiri.
- From the north of Mallorca: Stop at Finca Son Real, where you can see local animals, among other things. We visit the Aloe Vera Farm where we get a guided tour and they show us the different products and explain the many uses of Aloe Vera. You can also try the aloe vera juice. Next we visit the Sineu market, one of the oldest markets on the island. Drive to Bonany Monastery near Petra, from where you have a wonderful view over the island. Stop at the convent Junipero Serra in Petra.
The next part of the tour is the same for everybody: we will go to the pretty town of Sineu, to a typical Mallorcan restaurant for lunch, which is included in the price. The menu consists of Mallorcan tapas:
- Bread with tomato, alioli and sangria.
- Mallorcan sausages
- Mushrooms stuffed with sobrasada with honey
- Roasted peppers with grilled aubergines and toast
- Cod with sobrasada sauce
- Grilled pork
- Fruit Flan
- Water, wine

Excellent day out. Great multilingual guides. Good coach. Wonderful venues to see the true Mallorca and its traditions. We loved the mixture of stops. Food at lunch was excellent. We loved the mix of traditional foods. The fish was excellent. Our fellow travelers were good company. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Mallorca for the first time. Thank you so much to driver Dirk and guide Johannes.
This was a wonderful day out discovering the real Mallorca. Jacko was our guide for the day and he was so knowledgable. He took us to lots of places that the large coaches would not be able to reach and kept us entertained for the whole day. We had a typical Mallorcan lunch with local produce and local wine. My sister and I would thoroughly recommend this excursion.
