information of the activity: SIERRA DE LA TRAMUNTANA
From your hotel or accommodation you can make your way to the “Ferrocarril de Soller” train station in Palma or in Son Sardina.
The modernist building which is the station in Palma exhibits a display of paintings titled “50 Landscapes of Mallorca”, a collection of works by more than 50 well-known artists linked to the island (free entry).
Begin your excursion with the journey in the “Tren de Sóller”, which takes you from Palma to Soller, with surprising views of the Tramuntana Mountains and incredible landscapes along the way.
On arrival in Soller you can visit two exhibition rooms dedicated to Miró and Picasso in the train station itself. The Miró exhibition consists of a collection of the artist’s lithographs and tapestries and the Picasso exhibition displays an important collection of ceramic works from the genial artist. Entry is free.
Just a few metres from the train station, the tram awaits us. The 25 minute journey aboard the old wagons takes us away from the old town of Soller as we rumble over a stream, through groves of orange trees and finally trundle parallel to the promenade of the bay of Soller towards Puerto Soller. The splendid vistas of the sea, the fishing boats and the beach make this journey a unique experience.
The next part of the excursion is a magnificent boat trip to La Calobra, with wonderful views of the dramatic Tramuntana coast. En La Calobra there is time to visit the famous “Torrente de Paréis”, an impressive gorge, or relax on the beach before doing the whole trip in reverse to make your way back to Palma.
