On this tour we will take you on one of the best hikes you can find in Mallorca, with a mix of charming historical villages along the way, panoramic views, a hidden beach and lots of interesting stops to know more about the island, the vegetation and Mallorca culture with a local guide. This is a great way to discover Mallorca's nature, gastronomy and wine.
The meeting point of our hiking excursion is in the center of Palma. From there we take together the public bus that takes us into the mountains. We begin the hike along the old Camí des Correu, which is the old road that used to link Esporles and Banyalbufar, which gives us unforgettable views of the sea and mountains. Our first destination is Banyalbufar, a small village in the mountains with only 200 inhabitants that will reward us with amazing views of the Tramuntana area and the Mediterranean Sea. A great opportunity to see a local village and to learn about the Moorish times and the cultivation terraces they built there.
From here, we will make our way down to the secluded pebble beach, and you will see a stunning example of a Mallorcan cove. At the beach we take a break and there are local mallorcan specialties to taste from our picnic. If you want you can go swim in the sea or you can just relax enjoying the views and the sunshine. Once we’ve finished relaxing on the beach, we will head up to take the bus back to Palma.
At Banyalbufar you will have the option to visit one of the island’s smaller and more local bodegas (or wine cellars), where you can see (and taste) how they produce very special wines, exclusive to this region, using the Malvasia grape, which is not really used much in the rest of the island, but with which they make interesting wines in Banyalbufar.
