Paella Cooking Class in Mallorca: Authentic Experience in Banyalbufar

If you're looking for something more personal than a conventional cooking class, this experience gives you the opportunity to spend time with a Mallorcan host in her own home and discover paella as part of local family culture. It combines several experiences in one day: exploring Banyalbufar, visiting a countryside home in the Tramuntana Mountains, tasting local products, learning how to prepare one of Spain's most famous dishes and finally sitting down together to enjoy the paella you've made.

With groups limited to only 8 participants, the experience remains small, relaxed and personal. It's particularly suitable for travellers looking to get away from the usual tourist activities and experience a more authentic side of Mallorca.

• The complete experience lasts approximately 6 hours.
• This includes the walk through Banyalbufar, the gastronomic experience, preparation of the paella and time to enjoy the meal together.

The meeting point is in the centre of Banyalbufar, at the bus stop in front of the church. You will find two wooden benches under an olive tree, opposite the café Es Forn des Casino, which has distinctive blue windows.

Banyalbufar is a small village on the west coast of Mallorca, in the Serra de Tramuntana, and can be reached either by car or public transport.

By car:

• Driving is the easiest and most flexible option. From Palma, the journey takes approximately 40–45 minutes. The road into the Tramuntana Mountains is very scenic, although some sections are winding, so we recommend allowing plenty of time and arriving early.
• Parking in Banyalbufar itself is limited, particularly during the busier summer months. We recommend arriving with enough time to find a parking space and then walking to the meeting point in the village centre.

By public bus:

• Banyalbufar can also be reached by TIB public bus from Palma, making it possible to enjoy the experience without renting a car.
• The bus stops in Banyalbufar close to the meeting point for the experience. As public transport timetables can vary depending on the season and day of the week, we recommend checking the current TIB timetable before travelling and choosing a service that gives you sufficient time before the activity starts.
