Palma Aquarium is much more than an Aquarium; it is a day packed with fun, excitement and maximum enjoyment.
We are going to try to put into words just how much Palma Aquarium has to offer but it will be difficult. If you prefer to see the photos, see above.
At Palma Aquarium you will find more than 55 tanks, 8000 fish and 700 species in diverse zones representing different areas of the world:
- In the Old World we find ourselves in the Mediterranean with 25 aquariums in which we find seahorses, lobsters, crabs, the huge octopus…
- The New World takes us through the tropical seas and we find ourselves gazing at precious coral and some of the most spectacular fish in Palma Aquarium, including tiger fish and clown fish.
- In the outside area we can discover the Mediterranean Gardens where we can relax while the children have fun in the play area with the spectacular pirates ship and the unpredictable water fountains. Also in this area you will find fauna, aromatic plants, sea turtles, rays and an interactive pool with carp.
- Have you ever been in the jungle? Well now you don’t even need to leave the island! Palma Aquarium has its very own jungle which makes you feel like you are in the Amazon, with reptiles and a waterfall.
- There really aren’t any words to describe the Big Blue; you have just lie down on one of the cushions or sofas and enjoy the spectacular display of the brute force of Palma Aquarium’s sharks in Europe’s largest shark tank. You can easily spend 30 minutes or more just marvelling at this spectacle. The sharks, rays and multitude of fish will leave you speechless.
- The jellyfish also have their space at Palma Aquarium in a cylindrical tank in which you can see how the colourful jellyfish elegantly glide.
During much of your route through the aquarium, you will find guides from the park who will explain many curiosities about the different inhabitants of Palma Aquarium. There are also interactive tactile screens which tell you many amazing facts about the different tanks and species.
But that is not all. In summer Palma Aquarium has a complete animation programme and the youngest members of the family are kept entertained all day with dances, face painting, water battles and much more… all at no extra cost.
Opinions of the clients about Palma Aquarium
First of all the logistics were nice, we were picked up at the mentioned meeting point. However the aquarium itself was a little underwhelming. If you have visited any other aquarium above average aquarium, then this one will be nothing amazing. A very important thing here was this 3d aquadome which shows a small 3D video about whales, this was very nice, the 3D scenes are nice, but again the movies was only about 5 minutes, the ending scene was amazing though but it leaves you wanting more. We had a couple hours left at the end of the excursion we used it to have quick lunch on the Palma beach. Once again, a nice trip if you have children with you, otherwise there are better things here. All in all 3 stars for the aquarium, and 4 stars overall,as the crew on the bus was ver nice, full points to them, the bus was very nice and made the travels comfortable.
Everything was great. Bus was a little late for the initial pick up time but it might be due to other tourists rather than driver/ tour organizer. Otherwise all was good. Looking forward to our next excursion! The review window is not mobile friendly...?;)
Very nice Aquarium, the shark experience is awesome. Would recommend going on the shark tour! loved it. Staff very friendly and obviously love their job!
The acquarium is superb and the grounds and gardens lovely with a great playground for the kids. Food a bit pricy but it is possible to picnic and easy to get drinks and ice creams. An overall good day out.
The fish are spectacular and all look very well cared-for, the shark tank in particular was mesmerising. An added bonus is that the aquarium is air-conditioned and this, and the outdoor splash area for the kids, gave a very welcome relief from the high summer heat of 40 degrees. A great day out, recommended!
