The port of Ciutadella where the ferry arrives is about 3 kilometers from the city center, and the price includes a round trip bus service between the port and the city. From Ciutadella you can take the public bus that connects with the cities of Alaior and Ferreries, with final destination to the city of Mahón. Some interesting proposals:
- In Alaior you can take a self-guided route that includes 3 of the main places of interest: the church of Santa Eulália, a civil war anti-aircraft shelter and a traditional Menorca town house. We can complement this route with a walk through its streets or visit a cheese factory.
- In Ferreries we can enjoy one of the typical towns of Menorca, with its cobbled streets and white houses and buildings.
- In Mahón we can enjoy its old town, with its streets and historical buildings, or near its port, the largest natural port in the Mediterranean. For lovers of Gin, a visit to Gin Xorriguer is a must.
- Ciutadella can be our last stop of the trip. Here we can enjoy the stately atmosphere of the city, with its walls, its narrow streets, its Cathedral, the Plaza del Born ... and even enjoy a light dinner before starting the return trip with the ferry.
These are just some suggestions, because if you decide to rent a car once you get off the ferry in Menorca, you can discover many more corners of this island, such as Binibeca or Cala Galdana. And if you love beaches or coves; from Ciutadella there are numerous bus connections to many of the beautiful coves that Menorca has.
