On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse in Mallorca will take place — an extraordinary astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, completely covering it for a brief period. During this moment, daylight turns into night, temperatures drop, the sky darkens, and the solar corona becomes visible — a sight that can only be seen during totality.

During totality, the Sun will be very low on the western horizon, creating an exceptionally rare sight: a total solar eclipse at sunset.

Mallorca lies within the path of totality, the narrow band on Earth from which the Sun is completely covered by the Moon. Outside this band, the eclipse will only be partial.

Thanks to the island’s geographic position and its open sea horizon, the Mediterranean offers one of the best possible viewing locations, especially when looking west, free from mountains or obstructions.

On August 12, experience one of the most spectacular astronomical events of the century from a privileged viewpoint: the sea off Cape Formentor.

We will depart at 6:00 PM from Port de Pollença, sailing calmly across the bay as the sun begins to sink toward the horizon. As we follow the coastline and leave land behind, we will head beyond the iconic Cape Formentor, positioning ourselves at a location with a completely unobstructed western horizon, ideal for observing the eclipse.

From the open sea, free of mountains or visual obstacles, we will witness how the light changes, the sky transforms, and the Sun is gradually covered by the Moon in the moments before sunset. Totality… right on the horizon, creating a unique scene where astronomy, the sea, and the Mediterranean landscape come together.
