At 10:10 we will climb aboard the first train of the day departing from Palma Station and we will leave the city towards the Soller Valley in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains. This is a wonderful journey on the famous vintage wooden Soller train, taking us back in time 100 years. The panoramic views from the train during this first part of the excursion are truly epic, with a wide variety of photogenic landscapes as we head away from the city and deeper into the Tramuntana and we begin to pass through the tunnels that take us literally through the mountains. One of these tunnels takes us right into the Soller Valley where we will make a photo stop at the viewpoint with the most spectacular view of the Soller Valley and some of the highest mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana.
As the train continues towards the town of Soller we begin to see changes in the landscape with olive trees, lemon trees and oranges trees (for which Soller is famous) and we will reach Soller Station which houses a free exhibition of Miró paintings and Picasso ceramics. In Soller you will have time to visit the beautiful main square where you can observe the modernist façade of the Bank of Soller and the exceptional church. Later it is a must to try a homemade lemon or orange ice cream at Can Pau ice cream parlour before returning to the station to board the tramway.
The Soller tram runs every 30 minutes and will take us from Soller Town to the Port of Soller on a route resplendent with orange trees and lemon trees and then we'll trundle straight along the seafront through the Port of Soller.
The next stage of our tour will be the 45-minute boat trip that will take us at 1pm from Puerto de Soller to Sa Calobra and on which we will discover the coast of the Tramuntana area. Here we will see dramatic Mediterranean landscape with karstic rocks, old defensive towers, isolated coves and marine caves.
In Sa Calobra the will be free time to discover the Torrente de Pareis gorge, take a stroll, eat at one of the restaurants or take a swim in one of the most gorgeous spots of Mallorca. Then we will begin our way back by boat, tram and train, repeating the whole experience in reverse order.
Ticket Soller Train, tram and boat Sa Calobra Reviews
Good day. But would loved more time in the Soller and Soller port.
Very good. thanks
The train and tram ride were excellent. Beautiful scenery and landscape. Port de Sóller is well worth a visit. I would not bother going on the boat trip. Sa Calobra is tiny with an overcrowded stony beach and overpriced restaurants. The train and tram get 5 stars. The boat gets 2 stars. Spend your time in Sóller and Port de Sóller and you will have a superb day.
This was a great way of booking our train and boat trip. Our tickets and itinerary were all ready for us at the station and we had a fantastic day
Train and tram rides were more like the London underground with how busy they were- fighting for seats. Not what i expected from a trip that centred on the journey. Having a son with a disability made it very difficult and stressful just trying to keep him safe. Would never have booked if known the reality of it just being public transport that is extremely busy. Boat ride was very nice however and train could have been lovely if capacity controlled.
Great journey through the mountains to Soller and good to be able to buy the inclusive tickets at a reasonable price. We were disappointed with Sa Calobra, tiny rocky beach and grossly overpriced drinks. We were glad that we chose the option of the later boat trip so we only spent 40 minutes there. It was a bit stressful to be sure that we would make the last train to Palma with only five minutes to spare. It would be a good idea to tell customers that the train will wait for the last tram from the Port or schedule the transfers with half an hour to spare so people did not rush from one mode of transport to another in a panic!
A wonderful day out exploring the orange and Lemon groves in the comfort of the historic train. The town of Sóller is wonderful and riddled with cafes and bars amongst the side streets and main square. The beautiful port sóller is again bursting with eateries. A gorgeous harbour with wonderful views before you get on the boat for a 55 min cruise up the coast. Take your swimming kit and relax in the quaint cove.
Absolut wonderfull birthday!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!
Great day out. Easy to find tour ticket desk and train, tram and boat. Short waiting times between each stage. Beautiful beach and scenery at Sa Calobra and good restaurant.. great paella! There is very little time to see Soller itself (which is worth doing.. old town and port) but we had visited before so OK for us, as the boat trip was great.
Hermoso paseo!! Soller , puerto y cala , completaron un día espectacular
We want to know what you think
