Close to Port de Alcudia, one of the busiest tourist resorts in Mallorca, we have created a unique activity that will make you feel like you are a million miles away from the hotels and souvenir shops. This is an unusual activity in Mallorca for small groups of people that wish to do something different and get to know the real local agricultural traditions and even participate in them.
The experience takes place just outside Alcudia, not even 3km away, at an old "finca", a typical rural farm, in peaceful surroundings, close to the Albufereta Natural Park. The owners of this finca await you at their property where they will show you how country life in Mallorca is and the contrasts between their daily life and the nearby tourist resort.
In fact, this is a hands on experience and you will have the opportunity to help with the daily tasks on the farm. These could include helping to sow crops, driving the rotavator, harvesting fruit or preparing compost, all depending on the time of year. You will have good fun and will learn about country life in Mallorca while at the same time interacting with a real farming couple and helping them with their labours.
The activity will end with a hearty Mallorcan lunch consisting of “pa amb oli” (Mallorcan bread with oil and toppings) acompanied by a glass of wine or freshly squeezed fruit juice.
Afterward you can relax and enjoy conversing with your hosts or just enjoy the marvellous tranquility of the countryside while you take in views of the Tramuntana Mountains or the sea.
When your time at the finca is over, your hosts can give you recommendations about other ways to enjoy the area such as:
- Visiting the Albufereta Natural Park, which you can reach on foot from the property.
- Visiting Alcudia's stunning old town, which is also close by.
- Recommendations of hidden coves and beaches in the surrounding area.
