Beaches in Playa de Muro

As you can already imagine from the name, the beaches are one of the main attractions of Playa de Muro. The 7 kilometres of sand that make up the area are divided into 4 Sectors: Sector 1, Sector 2, Es Comú and Ses Casetes des Capellans. These last two are much less crowded because to get to them you have to take a walk or drive. It is also important to note that these last two sectors are part of the S’Albufera Natural Park and are close to Can Picafort.

They are beaches of fine white sand, with crystal clear and clean waters. In addition, there is a good distance until the water covers you, which makes it ideal for families with children. You can sit on the shore or even wade into the water a bit and lie down, and enjoy the views while you’re in the water. Unlike other beaches, there is no promenade bordering the beach. Sector 1 Beach in Playa de Muro

This beach area starts at the Allsun Eden Alcudia hotel and goes to the Playa Esperanza hotel. It is about 1600 meters long and 40 metres wide. This is the most popular beach area in Playa de Muro, as there are a large number of services in its surroundings and on the beach. On the beach you can find lifeguard services, sunbeds and parasols. To park, you can do so on the main road or in the streets near the beach.

Sector 2 Beach in Playa de Muro

The stretch of beach is 1700 metres long and about 35 metres wide. It is a less urbanized area than sector 1. Here we will find fewer hotels, but many private summer residences. Es Comú

This beach area extends from the Albufera Park Hotel to Es Capellans (at the entrance to Can Picafort). It is a completely virgin area in which there are no buildings of any kind. It is also a protected area, as there is a dune system that must be preserved. Therefore, you will see an area delimited by ropes that cannot be accessed.

The beach is like the one in sector 1 and 2, although somewhat narrower, and without any kind of services. It is ideal for those looking for something quieter. Es Capellans

Es Capellans belongs to the municipality of Muro, although due to its proximity, it is more closely related to Can Picafort. It is a very small area of just 400 metres long. The name is very curious: in the Mallorcan language it is “Caseta dels Capellans”, which translated into English means “little houses of the priests” referring to the fact that some of the houses in this area were occupied long ago by priests.
